Powered Parachutes are used in parts of the country for Police and Fire Department activities. It is often easier to spot lost or missing people from the air than it is from the ground.
A Powered Parachute can be flown safely in winds up to 15 mph at low heights (100 feet or less) and at speeds as slow as (26 MPH) which do not create ground disturbance that are unattainable with conventional fixed wing or rotary wing (helicopter) aircraft.
Powered Parachutes are very portable and well suited to take off and land on makeshift or short runways, dirt roads, and open fields with clear approaches is all that is necessary for an acceptable airstrip.
Single or double seat Powered Parachutes are very economical to operate and maintain as compared to other more conventional aircraft.
Powered Parachute capabilities include:
Search and rescue for lost or missing persons. Aerial IR camera usage.
If your rescue operation has an infrared camera it can be used from the air for better search results.
Search and investigation of illegal plant growing activity.
Lowlevel flights are possible with little risk and no damage to crops or vegetation. Photographs can be easily taken for use as evidence in court proceedings.
Accident and crime scene investigation.
Aerial views and photographs are great tools for investigators during crime scene investigation and accident reconstruction.
