Gulliver’s Wilderness Airpark Fly-in, July 2007

Well, I am home...whew, what a time.
We arrived at about 8PM on Thurs night just as several people had just landed. We met the Gulliver’s, two of the best people you will ever have a pleasure to meet. They pointed us to a spot to set up our camp, and I parked the truck and trailer. We took our time getting setup, and got to bed around 11PM. 5:30 AM the next morning was heavy dew with no wind. Matt and I were the first on the field, anxious to make up lost ground to the pilots that flew Thurs night. The heavy dew, and nil wind made for challenging conditions, but I was the first one off the ground with no problems on the first try. Matt was soon to follow, also no problems. Conditions aloft were steady at about 13-15MPH, so we did not go far, but we had a great time flying around the beautiful countryside. We flew every morning and evening, including Sunday mornings awesome X country up to the Lake Ontario shoreline. The good news is that I turned out to be the third best PPG pilot there, bad news is that there were only 3 of us....

This is a Ultralight fly-in, and all types were represented, and the Gulliver’s are really encouraging other PPG pilots to attend. It was great getting to see all the cool types of aviation. There is no charge for this fly-in, that’s right FREE! They cook all day everyday, made to order anything, and its all good! This is a very family friendly atmosphere, with lots of spectators. The location is unbelievable, and the people are great. All the different pilots had great fun swapping fireside stories in the evenings.
This is a super place to, meet new pilots, see different aircraft, eat great food, and of course FLY! I highly recommend this fly-in to anyone that wants a laid back good time, sharing the sky with first rate folks. They are having another one this year at the end of Aug, hope to see you there!
